Surf and turf

With his studio on the North Bali coast, Jon's world is resplendent with fish, coral, reptiles and chickens. Domestic chickens descend from jungle fowl still habituating this part of Southeast Asia. Jon liberated a dozen fighting cocks who have since mated with local wild birds. These indigenous life forms and his native southwest US memories provide Jon with endless inspiration.

Hot Copper, Vases, and Flatwork (Cane Paintings)

Breaking his own aesthetic rule by creating something "useful," Jon pushed on from hot copper bowls to really cool fish vases, expressing his more feminine side. But Jon's masculinity wouldn't take that lying down. His flatwork, or cane paintings, exhibit some of his harder edges. You'll find them all in Jon's Lifestyle Gallery.
